A mai napot azzal a hírrel nyitottuk, hogy Lana Del Rey és a Video Games nyerte el az elmúlt egy év legjobb kortárs dalának járó Ivor Novello-díjat – hát nem is zárhatnánk stílszerűbben, mint az énekesnő egy új felvételével! A Never Let Me Go nem az azonos című Florence + The Machine-dal feldolgozása, hanem egy eddig ismeretlen szerzemény, mely ma este bukkant fel a neten, és e sorok írásakor még nincs információ a felvételei körülményeiről (itt a Recordernél annyit ki tudtunk nyomozni, hogy Lana 2011 áprilisában a Twitter-oldalán már közreadta az „O, the world is ours, like they say in Scarface, kid / you can push your drugs and I can make it big / sing at CBGB's, have a real good gig / hey you never know” versszakot). Annyi azonban rögtön megállapítható, hogy nem resztliről van szó, hanem egy első osztályú dalról, a Lana Del Rey-szerzemények tipikus jellemzőivel.
