A meghatározó brit havi magazinok 2013-as év végi listái, azaz a Mojo, valamint az Uncut és a Q Top 50-jei után nézzük, hogyan értékelnek évet Amerikában a vezető lapok, amelyek közül - angol társaikkal szemben - már csak a kétheti Rolling Stone lap tartja magát nyomtatásban is, az 1985 és 2012 között printben is megjelenő Spin, és a 2002 és 2010 között printben is kijövő Paste már csak webzine-ként üzemel, de ettől persze még továbbra is jelentősek a maguk területén, akárcsak az eleve online Stereogum. Az USA-ban persze borítékolható a Kanye-lemez népszerűsége, de így is újabb három különböző album a No. 1.
